SHAWWA, AZZAM ABDUL KARIM (1963-)

Born in Kuwait in 1963; Fateh member; holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Memphis; worked at and headed the Bank of Palestine in the Gaza Strip; then became coordinator of the Arab Bank, Gaza Branch; serves as Treasurer of the Palestine Investment Fund and as Sec.-Gen. of the Palestine Banking Association; is a member of the Palestine Food Industries Co.; member of the Palestine National House of Books; serves as Pres. of the Gaza Sporting Club as well as of Atfaluna - Society for Deaf Children in Gaza; became Minister of Energy in the cabinet of PM Mahmoud Abbas on 30 April 2003, serving until Oct. 2003, when late Pres. Yasser Arafat installed a reduced emergency cabinet.

شوا، عزام عبد الكريم (1963 - ) من مواليد الكويت عام 1963؛ حاصل على شهادة بكالوريوس تخصص رياضيات من جامعة مامفس في الولايات المتحدة؛ عمل في بنك فلسطين ثم مديراً للبنك في قطاع غزة؛ عمل في البنك العربي، فرع غزة؛ أمين صندوق الاستثمار الفلسطيني وأمين عام نقابة البنوك الفلسطينية؛ عضو شركة الصناعات الغذائية الفلسطينية؛ عضو دار الكتب الوطنية الفلسطينية؛ رئيس نادي غزة وجمعية أطفالنا للأطفال الصم في غزة؛ عين وزيراً للطاقة في حكومة السلطة الفلسطينية في 30 نيسان/ ابريل 2003 وبقي في المنصب حتى تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2003؛ أصبح مديراً عام لبنك القدس والتنمية عام 2004 وعضواً في مجلس أمناء مؤسسة ياسر عرفات في آذار/ مارس 2008.
