ABU FADEL, MUNER (1912-1987)

Born in 1912 in Ein Anoub in Lebanon. Studied at the American School in Lebanon then at the National University at Shwaifat. Graduated with a BA in political science in 1929. He came to Palestine in 1930. Appointed with the General Police in Haifa in 1933, then as Inspector of Police in 1937. He later became a captain in the criminal investigation branch in 1938. In 1943 he joined the British army until 1944. During his service he was in charge of extradition matters between the British Authorities in Palestine and Austria. In the last years of the British Mandate, he joined the Palestinian School of Law in Jerusalem, and graduated as a lawyer, was elected as an MP in the Lebanese Parliament in 1957, and stayed in his position until his death. He died on January 29th, 1987.

أبو فاضل، منير (1912- 1987) ولد في عين عنوب في لبنان عام 1912، درس في الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت ومن ثم في المدرسة الوطنية في الشويفات، نال درجة البكالوريوس في العلوم السياسية عام 1929، جاء الى فلسطين عام 1930، وفي عام 1933 تم تعيينه في الشرطة العامة في حيفا، ومن ثم مفتش شرطة عام 1937، اصبح نقيباً في فرع التحقيق الجنائي عام 1938، انضم إلى الجيش البريطاني (1943-1944) حيث كان مسؤولاً عن قضايا تبادل وتسليم المجرمين بين السلطات البريطانية في فلسطين والنمسا، في السنوات الاخيرة من الانتداب البريطاني، انضم إلى معهد القانون الفلسطيني في القدس وتخرج منه محامياً، انتخب نائبا في البرلمان اللبناني عام 1957، واستمر نائباً حتى وفاته، توفي بتاريخ 29 كانون الثاني/ يناير عام 1987.
