AL-JU'BA, NAZMI (1955-)

Born in Jerusalem in 1955; achieved his BA in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Sciences from Birzeit University in 1980, and then achieved his MA in History and Biblical Archeology, Iranian Studies and Archeology from Tübingen in Germany in 1988, and finally achieved his PhD in History and Archeology from University of Tübingen in Germany in 1991; worked as research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Palestinian Antiquities at Birzeit University ; worked as research and teaching assistant at the University of Tübingen, Germany; taught courses in History and Archeology—especially History of Jerusalem in Al-Quds University; worked as assistant professor in the History Department in Birzeit University; works as assistant professor in the Department of History and Archeology in Birzeit University since 2010; worked as supervisor of the Tell Jenin Digging; Director, Islamic Museum at Al- Haram Al-Sharif in Jerusalem; TAVO, Tübinger Atlas des Vorderen Orients-Germany; Co-Director, Riwaq – Center for Architectural Conservation; served as Dean of Students at Birzeit University; member of Jerusalem Task Force, Orient House, Jerusalem; served as Chairperson of the Department of History and Archaeology at Birzeit University; team member of preparing the protection plan of the Old City, Hebron; supervisor of different surveys of Cultural Heritage in Palestine, Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology; supervised listing and documenting all of the buildings in the Old City, Jerusalem, Welfare Association- Jerusalem; supervised collecting the data and publishing Riwaq Registry of Historic Buildings in Palestine; worked with Action plan for the Old City, Jerusalem with UNESCO; works at composing the strategy of the cultural sector for Jerusalem since 2010; supervised the establishment of Mahmud Darwish Museum; served as Chairperson of the Department of History and Archaeology, Birzeit University; member of the Presidential Committee for the Restoration of the Nativity Church in Bethlehem and following up the work since 2012; has been working on revising the design of the Islamic Museum, Aqsa Mosque with UNESCO since 2014; member of the Editorial Board of “Jerusalem Quarterly” from 1998 until now, member of the Board of Trustees of the Social Welfare Association in Jerusalem from 1998 till now, member of Board of Arab Thought Forum, and member of the Board of Trustees, from 2010 to 2017 Chairman of the Board of Directors, member of the Board of Directors, Faisal Husseini Foundation from 2002 until now; member of the Board of Trustees at Yabous for Art Production since 2002; attended a large number of academic, political and cultural conferences in Palestine and various places of the world and the presentation of papers and lectures; the publication of a large number of articles, in addition to the publication of some books.

الجعبة، نظمي (1955- ) من مواليد القدس عام 1955؛ حاصل على شهادة البكالوريوس في دراسات الشرق الأوسط و العلوم السياسية من جامعة بيرزيت عام 1980، و شهادة الماجستير في التاريخ والآثار التوراتية والدراسات الايرانية والآثار من جامعة توبنغن، ألمانيا عام 1988، و الدكتوراه في التاريخ والآثار من جامعة توبنغن، ألمانيا، في عام 1991؛ عمل مساعد بحث وتدريس ـفي معهد الآثار الفلسطينية في جامعة بيرزيت؛ مساعد بحث وتدريس في جامعة توبنغن في المانيا؛ ثم عمل في تدريس مساقات في التاريخ والآثار، خاصة تاريخ مدينة القدس في جامعة القدس، و عمل أستاذ مساعد ـفي دائرة التاريخ في جامعة بيرزيت؛ و يعمل أستاذاً مشاركاُ في دائرة التاريخ والآثار في جامعة بيرزيت من عام 2010 حتى الآن؛ عمل على الإشراف على أربع مواسم حفريات أثرية، تل جنين؛ و عمل مدير المتحف الإسلامي في الحرم الشريف القدس؛ عمل باحثاً لأطلس توبنغن للشرق، و مساعد أكاديمي في جامعة توبنغن في المانيا؛ عضو الوفد الفلسطيني للمفاوضات (مفاوضات مدريد وواشنطن)؛ عمل على الإشراف على تسجيل المباني التاريخية في مدينتي رام الله والبيرة؛ عمل محاضراً في معهد الآثار العالي في جامعة القدس والإشراف على عدد من رسائل الماجستير؛ عمل مديراً مشارك رواق ـ مركز المعمار الشعبي؛ عضو دائرة شؤون القدس في بيت الشرق في القدس؛ عمل عميد شؤون الطلبة في جامعة بيرزيت؛ كان رئيس دائرة التاريخ في جامعة بيرزيت؛ عمل على الإشراف على تسجيل المباني التاريخية في كل مدن وقرى الضفة الغربية، تحليل نتائجها ونشرها؛ عمل على تحضير وثيقة متحف الذاكرة الفلسطينية ووضع فلسفة المتحف، و الإشراف على تسجيل المباني التاريخية في القدس القديمة وتحليل نتائجها؛ قام بتحضير خطة إعمار القدس القديمة ضمن فريق اليونسكو (Action Plan)؛ عضو لجنة متحف الشهيد ياسر عرفات من عام 2008 حتى الآن؛ عمل على تحضير الخطة الاستراتيجية الوطنية الفلسطينية لقطاع الثقافة في مدينة القدس في عام 2010؛ كان منسق اللجنة العلمية لمتحف محمود درويش؛ كان رئيس دائرة التاريخ والآثار في جامعة بيرزيت؛ عضو اللجنة الرئاسية لترميم كنيسة المهد من 2012 حتى الآن؛ عمل على مراجعة وتدقيق مخططات المتحف الاسلامي ـــ الحرم الشريف ــــ القدس المعدة من قبل فريق اليونسكو في 2014؛ يشكل عضو هيئة تحرير Jerusalem Quarterly من 1998 حتى الآن، و عضو مجلس أمناء جمعية الرفاه الاجتماعي في القدس من 1998 حتى الآن، و الملتقى الفكري العربي، عضو مجلس أمناء، منذ العام 2010 وحتى 2017 رئيس الهيئة الإدارية، و عضو الهيئة الإدارية، مؤسسة فيصل الحسيني من 2002 حتى الآن، و عضو مجلس أمناء يبوس للإنتاج الفني من 2002 حتى الآن؛ حضر عدد كبير من المؤتمرات الأكاديمية والسياسية والثقافية في فلسطين وأماكن متفرقة من العالم وتقديم أوراق بحثية ومحاضرات؛ نشر عدد كبير من المقالات، بالإضافة الى نشر بعض الكتب.
