TOTAH, MOHAMMAD OMRAN (1969-)

Born in Jerusalem in 1969; graduated from Dar Al-Aytam School in the Old City of Jerusalem; received a BA in Business Administration from the Eastern Mediterranean University in (Turkish north) Cyprus, and an MBA from Al-Quds University, Jerusalem; worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Palestinian Center for the Development of Small Businesses and as Director at Al-Masrooji Company; Lecturer at Al-Quds University’s Business Administration and Marketing School; also serves as representative of Iqra’ Center for Qur’an and Sunnah and as General Supervisor for the Qur’an teaching centers in Jerusalem; is active in anti-land confiscation committees in Wadi Al-Joz/Bir Al-Marasras neighborhood and in campaigns to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque; was elected as PLC member (Change and Reform, Jerusalem district) in the Jan. 2006 elections; was arrested (along with other PA ministers and PLC members) in an Israeli military sweep against Hamas on 29 June 2006; refused to resign from the PLC as demanded by Israel and had his Jerusalem residency permit and Israeli ID card subsequently revoked by Interior Minister Roni Bar-On on 30 June; is still detained as of July 2006.

طوطح، محمد عمران (أبو معاذ) (1969 - ) ولد في القدس في عام 1969؛ تخرج من مدرسة دار الأيتام في البلدة القديمة في القدس؛ نال شهادة البكالوريوس في إدارة الأعمال من جامعة شرق البحر الأبيض المتوسط في (شمال تركيا) قبرص، وشهادة الماجستير في إدارة الأعمال من جامعة القدس، القدس؛ عمل مساعداً إدارياً في المركز الفلسطيني لتنمية الأعمال التجارية الصغيرة ومديراً لشركة المسروجي؛ محاضر في جامعة القدس في كلية إدارة الأعمال و والتسويق؛ كما وعمل ممثلاً لمركز اقرأ للقرآن والسنة ومشرف عام على مراكز تعليم القرآن في القدس؛ ناشط في لجان مكافحة مصادرة الأراضي وحملات حماية المسجد الأقصى؛ انتخب عضواً في المجلس التشريعي الفلسطيني (الإصلاح والتغيير، محافظة القدس) في انتخابات كانون الأول/ يناير 2006؛ اعتقل (مع وزراء فلسطينيين آخرين وبعض أعضاء من المجلس التشريعي) في حملة عسكرية إسرائيلية ضد حماس في 29 حزيران/ يونيو 2006؛ رفض الاستقالة من المجلس التشريعي الفلسطيني بطلب من إسرائيل، قام بناء على ذلك وزير الداخلية روني بار أون بسحب هوية المواطنة المقدسية والإقامة في القدس في تموز/ يوليو 2006 .
