SOUMI, NASSER (1948-)

Born in Palestine in 1948; studied Fine Arts at the National School of Fine Arts in Damascus, graduating in 1971; then moved to France, where he lives since 1980, and enrolled at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris from 1980-82; held a number of solo exhibits, incl. at the Square of the Palais des Papes in Avignon, Paris, at Darat Al-Funun in Amman (1996), and the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris (1997); also participated in many group exhibits, most recently at the Contemporary Art Biennale, Mitry-Mory, France (2004) and the Chikyudo Gallery in Tokyo, Japan (2004); won the Second Prize of the Cairo Biennale, Egypt, in 1986, and the First Prize of the Cairo Biennale in 1996.

صومي، ناصر (1948 - ) من مواليد القدس عام 1948؛ درس الفنون الجميلة في المدرسة الوطنية للفنون الجميلة في دمشق وتخرج عام 1971؛ ثم انتقل إلى فرنسا حيث عاش حتى عام 1980 والتحق بالمدرسة الوطنية للفنون الجميلة في باريس حلال الأعوام (1980-1982)؛ أقام عدة معارض فردية، بما فيها معرض في ساحة the Square of the Palais des Papes in Avignon في باريس، دار الفنون في عمان (عام 1996)، وفي Institut du Monde Arabe في باريس (عام 1997)؛ شارك أيضاً في عدة معارض جماعية، كان آخرها في --Contemporary Art Biennale, Mitry Mory في فرنسا (عام 2004) Chikyudo Gallery في طوكيو، اليابان (عام 2004)؛ حاز على الجائزة الثانية ل Cairo Biennal"e, مصر، في عام 1986، والجائزة الأولى ل Cairo Biennale في عام 1996.
