SNOBAR, IBRAHIM (1904-1995)

Born in Nablus in 1904; raised in Nablus; was appointed as teacher in Bir Saba’ in 1920, as well as in Gaza, and Ramleh in 1925; became a school principal in Tiberias in 1932; served as Assistant Educational Inspector of the Galilee province from 1936 and the Jerusalem area from 1940; became Inspector of the Samaria province (now part of Nablus) in 1945; was appointed Jordanian Assistant Deputy Minister of Education in 1950 and played a major role in improving the educational system; became a member of the Jordanian Council of Senates in 1962; after the War of 1967, became head of the Exams Committee that handled high school certificate exams; also served as Board of Trustees member of An-Najah National University in Nablus but resigned in protest at the political censorship that had been imposed on the University; his books include: From the Words of the Prophet, A Muslim’s Guide (1975) and For This Allah is known and for this is worshipped; also contributed to many school books; died in 1995.

صنوبر، إبراهيم (1904-1995) من مواليد نابلس عام 1904؛ نشأ وترعرع في نابلس؛ عمل في بداية الانتداب البريطاني في دائرة المعارف مدرساً في بئر السبع عام 1920 كذلك في غزة والرملة عام 1925؛ أصبح مدير مدرسة في طبريا عام 1932؛ شغل منصب مساعد المفتش التربوي في مقاطعة طبريا من عام 1936 ومنطقة القدس من عام 1940؛ أصبح مفتشاً في منطقة نابلس عام 1945؛ عين مساعد نائب وزير التربية الأردني عام 1950 ولعب دوراً رئيسياً في تحسين النظام التعليمي؛ أصبح عضواً في مجلس الأعيان الأردني عام 1962؛ بعد حرب حزيران عام 1967، ترأس لجنة الامتحانات التي تولت مسؤولية الإعداد والإشراف على امتحانات الشهادة الثانوية؛ عضو مجلس أمناء جامعة النجاح الوطنية في نابلس؛ من كتبه من كلمات النبي، دليل إسلامي (1975) ولهذا عرف الله ولهذا يعبد؛ ساهم أيضاً في العديد من الكتب المدرسية؛ توفي عام 1995.
