SHARIF, MUNTHER (1945-)

Born in Nablus on 4 Oct. 1945; studied Medicine and Surgery at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, graduating with an M.B.CH.B. in 1971; worked as Medical Doctor in the Governmental Health Dept. in Bethlehem from 1957-77; Medical Doctor at the Patients’ Friends Society, Ramallah, since 1978; was a Medical Officer at the Qalandia Health Center (UNRWA) from 1980-86; also served as Vice-Pres. of the Jordan Medical Council from 1982-84; became Senior Medical Officer at UNRWA’s Jerusalem Health Center from 1986-89; works as Medical Director at the Abu Rayya Rehabilitation Center in Ramallah since 1988; specialized further in Diabetology and Endocrinology at Zagreb University, Croatia, in 1989; serves as Medical Director for UNRWA, Central Health Area, since 1989; became an Executive Board member of the Palestinian Council of Health in Jerusalem in 1992; was Coordinator of the Technical Health Committee to the Multilateral Talks after 1992; served as Deputy Minister in the PA Ministry of Health from 1995-2003; serves as Advisor for Health Affairs to the PA President.

شريف، منذر (1945 - ) ولد في نابلس عام 1945؛ درس الطب والجراحة في جامعة الأزهر، القاهرة، تخرج مع (M.B.CH.B) في 1971؛ عمل طبيباً في قسم الصحة الحكومي في بيت لحم من (1957-1977)؛ وكان طبيباً في جمعية أصدقاء المريض، رام الله، عام 1978؛ وفي مركز الصحة في قلنديا (الأونروا) من (1980-1986)؛ ونائب رئيس في المجلس الأردني الطبي من (1982-1984)؛ و في المركز الصحي في القدس التابع لوكالة الغوث الطبية في (1986-1989)؛ ومدير طبي في مركز أبو رية للتأهيل في رام الله عام 1988؛ تخصص لاحقاً في مرض السكري وفي الغدد في جامعة زغرب، كرواتيا، 1989؛ ومدير طبي لوكالة الغوث الدولية، المركز الصحي للمنطقة عام 1989؛ أصبح عضو هيئة تنفيذ في المجلس الفلسطيني للصحة في القدس في 1992؛ كان منسقاً للجنة الطبية الفنية ضمن كوادر اللجان الفنية للإعداد للمفاوضات بعد 1992؛ عين نائب وزير الصحة في السلطة الفلسطينية من (1995-2003)؛ ثم مستشار للشؤون الصحية لرئيس السلطة الفلسطينية .
