Al-MASHHARAWI, SAMIR ABDUL QADER (1966-)

Born in Gaza in 1966; activist in the first Intifada and was imprisoned in Israeli jails; senior Fateh leader in the Gaza Strip; member of the Fateh Revolutionary Council; member of Fateh Higher Committee in Gaza, considered to be one of the younger generation of reformers within the movement; has repeatedly called for elections for Fateh institutions as well as for an end to corruption; holds the rank of a Colonel; served as deputy to the head of Preventive Security in Gaza, Rashid Abu Shbak; belongs to the Abu Rish Brigades that emerged during the second Intifada as a militant offshoot of Fateh; has been closely involved in the recent national dialogue between Fateh and Hamas; was prevented by Israel from traveling to Egypt to participate in the PLO-Hamas dialogue in 2002 was appointed as General Observer for the PA Interior Ministry and Security Apparatus in 2003; currently member of the Fateh Mobilization and Organization Office in charge of national relations.

المشهراوي، سمير عبد القادر (1966 - ) ولد في غزة في عام 1966؛ ناشط في الانتفاضة الفلسطينية الأولى وسجن في السجون الإسرائيلية؛ من أبرز نشطاء حركة فتح في قطاع غزة؛ عضو المجلس الثوري لفتح؛ عضو لجنة فتح العليا في غزة، يعتبر واحد من الجيل الأصغر للإصلاح في الحركة؛ دعا مراراً إلى الانتخابات داخل مؤسسات حركة فتح؛ يحمل رتبة عقيد؛ عمل نائباً لرئيس الأمن الوقائي في غزة رشيد أبو شباك؛ شارك عن كثب في المحادثات الوطنية بين حركتي حماس وفتح؛ منعته إسرائيل من السفر إلى مصر للمشاركة في الحوار الوطني الفلسطيني في 2002؛ عين مراقباً عاماً في وزارة الداخلية الفلسطينية وجهاز الأمن في 2003؛ عضو في مفوضية التعبئة والتنظيم في حركة فتح ومفوضية العلاقات الدولية.
