MASALHA, NUR (1975-)

Born in the Galilee on 4 Jan. 1957; received a BA in International Relations and Politics (1979) and an MA in Politics (1983) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Hebrew University’s Dept. of Political Science of Jerusalem from 1979-82; was a part-time lecturer in Middle East Politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, from 1985-86 and earned a PhD in Middle Eastern Politics from SOAS in 1988; was a Constantine Zureik Research Fellow at the Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS), Washington, DC, from 1989-94; Honorary Fellow at the Center for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, University of Durham, UK, from 1993-97; in 1994-95 also worked as Assistant Professor of Modern Middle Eastern History at Birzeit University; became lecturer in International Relations of the Middle East, Richmond American International University, London, in 1997 (until 2000); then Visiting Lecturer (2000-2001) and Research Fellow (2001-2002) at the Dept. of Theology and Religious Studies at St. Mary’s College, University of Surrey, UK; was a Research Associate at the Center of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law, SOAS, from 2000-2004; since Feb. 2001, Director of Holy Land Studies and a PhD program on Holy Land and Palestine Studies at St. Mary’s College; since Jan. 2005, Director of the Postgraduate Program in Religion and Conflict at St. Mary’s College; among his many publications are Expulsion of the Palestinians: The Concept of ‘Transfer’ in Zionist Political Thought, 1882-1948 (IPS, 1992), The Palestinians in Israel (Nazareth: The Galilee Centre for Social Research, 1993), Imperial Israel and the Palestinians: The Politics of Expansion, 1967-2000 (London: Pluto Press, 2000), The Politics of Denial: Israel and the Palestinian Refugee Problem (London: Pluto Press, 2003), and, most recently, editor of Catastrophe Remembered: Palestine, Israel and the Internal Refugees: Essays in Memory of Edward W. مصالحة، نور (1957 - ) ولد في الجليل عام 1957 ؛ حصل على شهادة البكالوريوس في العلاقات الدولية في عام 1979، وشهادة الماجستير في عام 1983 من الجامعة العبرية في القدس؛ عمل كمدرس وباحث في الجامعة العبرية في كلية العلوم السياسية في القدس من (1979-1982)؛ حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في السياسات الشرق أوسطية من نفس الجامعة في 1988؛ عمل محاضراً في تاريخ الشرق الأوسط الحديث في جامعة بيرزيت؛ ثم محاضراً في العلاقات الدولية للشرق الأوسط، في جامعة ريشموند الأمريكية الدولية، في لندن، في1997 حتى 2000؛ ثم محاضر زائر (2000-2001) وزميل بحث (2001-2002) في قسم الدراسات الدينية والثيولوجية في كلية سانت ماري، جامعة Surrey، في المملكة المتحدة؛ كان باحثاً مساعداً في مركز القانون الإسلامي والشرق أوسطي، SOAS ، من (2000-2004)؛ منذ شباط/فبراير 2001 ، مدير دراسات الأرض المقدسة برنامج الدكتوراه عن الأرض المقدسة والدراسات الفلسطينية في كلية سانت ماري؛ منذ كانون ثاني/يناير 2005، مدير برنامج ما بعد التخرج في الدين والصراع في كلية سانت ماري؛ من ضمن العديد من إصداراته: طرد الفلسطينيين: مفهوم الترانزفير في الفكر السياسي الصهيوني، (1882-1948) (1992)، الفلسطينيين في إسرائيل (الناصرة: مركز الجليل للبحوث المجتمعية، 1993)، الإمبراطورية الإسرائيلية والفلسطينيين: سياسة التوسع (1967-2000) (لندن، 2000)، سياسة الحرمان: إسرائيل وقضية اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (لندن، 2003)، وحديثاً محرر ذ كرى النكبة: فلسطين، إسرائيل واللاجئين الداخليين: مقالات لذكرى إدوارد سعيد (لندن، آب/أغسطس 2005).
