After 15 election-less years in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) and many failed attempts at intra-Palestinian reconciliation, it seemed as though the long overdue Palestinian general elections would finally take place in 2021. Such hope was dashed for the time being after President Mahmoud Abbas announced its indefinite postponement.
