Palestine in Review – This Was 2001 A Day-to-Day Chronology

20.00

This Was 2001 records the history that Palestinians have lived through and witnessed during 2001; which saw Ariel Sharon elected as Prime Minister of Israel, the Israeli army stepping up its savage repression of the Intifada, including invasion and reoccupation of Palestinian cities, camps and towns, and the Palestinians loosing one of their most tireless and steadfast leaders, Faisal Husseini, who had devoted his life to the struggle for Jerusalem. With regard to the peace process, 2001 was the year in which the Oslo process finally died, and on the global stage, events were overshadowed – and world attention diverted – by the attack on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington on September 11th.
